Let me explain.
After WWII, during the rise of the Cold War, rogue scientists were recruited under programs like Operation Paperclip. Among them was Project Smite—a covert effort to create the ultimate bioweapon to eliminate enemies of the Elite Shadow Government. You are that weapon: The Biophage.
Two scientists were assigned to the project—a stern ex-Nazi and a mischievous ex-Soviet. They have a volatile relationship, one enforces strict lab protocol. The other smokes indoors, ignores rules, and gaslights his partner into meltdown.
Gameplay fuses The Binding of Isaac’s chaotic, bullet-hell, dungeon crawling with the adaptable evolution system of Spore. After being injected into a target, you fight through procedurally generated Levels—each room hand-crafted with obstacles, hazards, loot, and grotesque enemies. Defeat them to absorb biomass and evolve.
The Boss can be found at the end of the dungeon, representing the organ most at risk of failing within the host. Passive abilities are gained through combat; powerful active abilities are found in treasure rooms and recharge between battles. The world oozes with grotesque charm—Tim Burton meets Lovecraft in a twisted cartoon hell. Between missions, return to the lab where your creators bicker & argue while listening to calm Orchestral music. Zoom into a petri dish to purchase cosmetics and permanent upgrades using biomass, amassed between runs, accompanied by dark techno tracks. Bioweapon DIY has never been so user friendly.
